Parao Fibre

Parao Fibre
PARAO FIBRE
A strong leaf fibre of the Hibiscus tillaceus in the Society Islands, used for ropes. The leaves of the tree are cut into lengths, tied together and soaked for about 10 days. The outer bark is then easily stripped off and immediately under is found the layer of fibres which are ready for use when dried.
